About the role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant Program Instructor, you will be responsible for evaluating and implementing the Jewish Home’s education and quality improvement programs in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals, federal and state laws and regulations, and applicable accreditation standards. You will coordinate and deliver education, orientation, clinical instruction, competency assessments, and compliance training to support the ongoing development of nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

What you'll bring

• Current and active California Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One (1) year of direct patient care experience in a long-term care setting plus one (1) year of experience planning educational programs
• OR two (2) years of licensed nursing experience, with at least one (1) year providing direct patient care in a long-term care setting.
• Within six (6) months of employment and prior to teaching, must complete twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education in educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation from an accredited or approved source.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software applications.
• One (1) year of instructor experience.
• Knowledge of quality improvement methods.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training techniques.
• Knowledge of patient safety and risk management.
• Knowledge of regulatory survey processes.
