Description

  • Repair work on towboats & river barges
  • New construction based on client need
  • Working with stainless steel & some carbon work
  • Reading & interpreting blueprints/drawings
  • Layout from blueprints modules & assemblies
  • Lay out damaged areas on a vessel & cut out steel
  • Fitting in new steel where damaged material was removed
  • Fabrication of new panels by measuring, spacing, framing, & pull
  • Good knowledge of the tools required & the safe use of them
  • Ability to work in confined spaces of the vessel hull compartments

Job Requirements

  • 1st class shipfitter
  • Minimum 5 years experience required
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints/drawings
  • Fabrication of new panels by measuring, spacing, framing, & pull
  • Good knowledge of the tools required & the safe use of them
  • Ability to work in confined spaces of the vessel hull compartments
