About the role
As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee our HR operations and help us build the systems, policies and culture needed to support our next stage of growth. This is not a purely administrative HR position. The HR Manager will oversee the day-to-day human resources function for Water Heater Warehouse, including: We're looking for someone who is organized, approachable and confident enough to handle difficult employee situations when necessary. The right person understands that good HR is not just paperwork. It means protecting the company, treating employees fairly, holding people accountable and helping managers make good decisions.
What you'll bring
- We are looking for someone who is comfortable working directly with ownership, managers, office employees and field technicians and who understands the realities of managing employees in California.
- Tracking employee certifications, licenses and required documentation
- 4+ years of Human Resources experience
- Strong working knowledge of California employment laws and HR practices
- Experience handling employee relations and disciplinary matters
- Experience with recruiting and onboarding
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with company ownership and management
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the HR department
- Previous HR Manager or HR Generalist experience
