About the role
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Colorado Mesa University invites applications for two full-time, 12-month, open-rank tenure-track core faculty positions. Positions are available immediately, however start date is flexible. We are seeking collaborative faculty who are excited to contribute to student success, and advance scholarship within a supportive academic environment. Applicants with expertise in basic sciences or clinical physical therapy practice areas are encouraged to apply. The program admits one cohort annually (24 students), allowing for strong faculty-student engagement and mentorship. The program is located in the St. Mary’s Medical Education Center, an interdisciplinary health sciences facility on the main campus in Grand Junction. The facility houses graduate programs in Occupational Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies, creating robust opportunities for interprofessional education and collaboration. Colorado Mesa University also offers graduate programs in Athletic Training, Nursing, and Social Work, contributing to a growing health sciences community. We are seeking faculty with expertise in one or more of the following areas.
What you'll bring
- Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, or related). • ABD candidates demonstrating progress toward completion may be considered.
- DPT candidates with demonstrated research activity may also be considered.
- Demonstrated content expertise in proposed teaching areas.
- Evidence of effective teaching or potential for excellence in teaching.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, organize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively utilize instructional technologies such as Brightspace (D2L), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
- Provide three letters of recommendation, which can be emailed to humanresources@coloradomesa.edu.
- Applicant must be able to verify U.S. employment eligibility.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical practice experience.
- Prior university-level teaching experience in a DPT or related program (e.g., PTA).
- Board or specialty certification (e.g., ABPTS, FAAOMPT) in area of expertise.
