About the role
As a Business Development Manager , you’ll help grow the local events and nightlife business by turning your relationships with promoters, venue owners, and organizers into new accounts. You’ll introduce a platform that gives them more ways to monetize their events, negotiate commercial terms, and own the customer relationship from first conversation through launch. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you’ll work directly with leadership and help shape the sales approach as the business grows. You’ll have autonomy over your pipeline and the opportunity to build on the company’s visibility across music and entertainment, including Lil Wayne featuring the platform in his Instagram bio and a signed WWE contract.
What you'll bring
- 2–6 years in business development, partnerships, sales, or commercially focused account management or customer success within ticketing, events, or nightlife.
- An active network of local venue owners, promoters, or organizers, including 10–20 people you could personally call when you start.
- Examples of business you personally sourced, negotiated, and closed.
- Confidence leading demos, discussing commercial terms, and asking for the deal.
- Working knowledge of ticketing economics, including fee splits, guarantees, advances, exclusivity, rebates, and bar minimums or splits.
- Experience building pipeline beyond your initial network through outbound prospecting and referrals.
- Availability to work full-time from the United States.
- Funding and backers: Join a seed-stage company with $16M in funding and backing from a16z.
- Experienced founders: Work with a team whose background includes building Lime and early roles at Google and Pinterest.
- Commercial autonomy: Own sourcing, negotiation, closing, and post-sale support, with direct leadership access and minimal approval layers.
- Remote flexibility: Work from anywhere in the United States.
- Team connection: Attend an optional monthly on-site “power week,” with room and board covered.
