About the role
GEV Wind Power US is seeking experienced Traveling Lead Composite Blade Technician 4 with extensive Category 4 & 5 composite blade repair expertise. This role involves leading and mentoring teams of technicians while performing high-quality, complex blade repairs up to Category 5, including structural and specialty repairs. We are looking for strong, reliable technicians with the following skillset and training:
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of high-quality composite repair experience performing all types of blade repairs.
- Knowledge of epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up, and vacuum bag techniques.
- Experience handling balsa and foam core materials.
- Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair methods.
- Ability to safely and properly use powered hand tools.
- Good finger dexterity, including precise use of hand and power tools
- Understanding of repair specifications, including wind speeds, temperature, and humidity restrictions.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and processes.
- Ability to work well in a team, take guidance, and provide leadership when required.
- Experience safely setting up and using 360-degree and 2M basket platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and to spend extended periods away from home at project sites.
- Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required.
