About the role

Mustang Cat is hiring a Compact Equipment Technician to support the maintenance and repair of Caterpillar compact construction equipment at our Katy, TX branch. This role is responsible for performing inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure Caterpillar compact equipment is operating safely and efficiently while delivering exceptional service to our customers. What you'll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• General knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems
• Experience using hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and diagnostic software
• Ability to read and follow service procedures and technical documentation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain the tools necessary to perform assigned repairs
• Professional communication skills and a strong customer service mindset
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced service environment
• Familiarity with Caterpillar systems such as DBS, SIS, and SIMS
• Forklift or aerial lift certification
