About the role

GBX Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. The Alcohol and Drug Counselor is responsible for conducting substance‑use assessments for Job Corps students, developing individualized intervention plans, and making appropriate referrals. The coordinator leads prevention efforts by designing and implementing educational activities, facilitating group sessions, and providing counseling and relapse‑prevention support. This role collaborates closely with center staff and community agencies to ensure the delivery of integrated, comprehensive, and high‑quality services to all students.

What you'll bring

• Must hold a current, valid, unrestricted license in a counseling discipline.
• Minimum one year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner focused on substance abuse prevention, counseling, or education.
• Experience providing assessment and treatment services to adolescence and young adults.
• Possess the ability to work both independently and as a member of a healthcare team to provide optimal services to a population of financially disadvantaged youth, typically ranging from 16 to 24 years in age.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and motivational skills.
