About the role

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team at Pact Packaging NZ Avondale. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is critical to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all manufacturing equipment, site services, and infrastructure. You will play a key role in executing preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and responding to unplanned stoppages to maintain 100% factory uptime. This position also supports automation initiatives, infrastructure upkeep, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This is a permanent full-time role.  Days of work required: Monday to Friday:  40 hours per week – Regular working hours 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

What you'll bring

• At least 3 years' maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment.
• Maintenance Engineering qualification with a strong diagnostics focus, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Proven technical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
• Machining experience.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CMMS.
• Excellent fault finding, diagnostic, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, approachable, and professional.
• Familiarity with Office 365 and ability to work unattended.
• Current EWRB EAS-EST accreditation or willingness to obtain (desirable).
