About the role
As a Manager I – Solar Estimating , you'll lead the preconstruction estimating team through every stage of the bidding process, ensuring bid accuracy, technical compliance, and competitive pricing for utility-scale solar projects. You'll oversee the coordination of estimating procedures and preconstruction activities while partnering with Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and Business Development to develop winning proposals. Your day moves between mentoring estimators, reviewing estimates, evaluating project risks and opportunities, and driving continuous improvements to preconstruction processes and systems. You'll also play a critical role in transitioning awarded projects from estimating to operations by coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, engineers, and clients to ensure a seamless handoff from preconstruction to construction. From supporting contract negotiations to establishing project execution strategies, you'll help position projects—and your team—for success while fostering collaboration across the organization. What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in construction related discipline.
- 5 or more years of applicable preconstruction and/or construction experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in estimating, project management, contract negotiations and sound construction methods
- with an emphasis on safety and quality.
