About the role

As a Purchaser at Lunda Construction, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials needed to support heavy civil construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement, timely deliveries, and uninterrupted project operations while maintaining company purchasing policies and budget objectives.

What you'll bring

• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
• Strong understanding of construction materials, construction methods and vendor management processes.
• Experience reviewing vendor quotes, negotiating pricing, and issuing purchase orders.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Knowledge of Estimating and Bid Preparation.
• Ability to review and approve shop drawings.
• Knowledge of current and future material market trends.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract terms, and purchasing procedures.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and purchasing software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
