About the role

Huntsman is seeking an Instrument and Electrical Reliability Engineer supporting the Performance Products Division located in Freeport, TX. This position will report to the Engineering Manager. This role is responsible for maintaining the reliability, integrity, and regulatory compliance of plant instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, control systems, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and associated equipment throughout their lifecycle.

What you'll bring

• You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of relevant Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refining environment.
• Demonstrated technical ownership of plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, including measurement, control loops, PID tuning, and flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, motor controls, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and grounding systems.
• Experience working with DCS platforms and/or PLC-based control systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, hazardous area classifications, and ISA standards.
• Experience with SAP PM, calibration management systems, and engineering document control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
