About the role
We're looking for engineers with approximately 1–5 years of experience who are passionate about Java, distributed systems and performance engineering. Exceptional new graduates with strong Java fundamentals and hands-on project experience are also welcome to apply. Rather than focusing on feature development alone, this role is dedicated to improving the performance, scalability and reliability of distributed backend systems. You'll investigate JVM internals, optimize application and middleware performance, troubleshoot production bottlenecks, and build internal tooling that enables engineering teams to ship reliable systems at scale.
What you'll bring
- Eengineers who enjoy understanding how large-scale Java systems actually work under the hood.
- Strong Java programming skills with solid understanding of JVM internals, multithreading and concurrent programming.
- Experience diagnosing performance bottlenecks through heap analysis, thread analysis, profiling and GC tuning.
- Familiarity with distributed system architecture and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with Spring Boot and microservice architecture.
- Hands-on experience working with middleware such as Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ or ZooKeeper.
- Solid understanding of MySQL performance optimization and slow query analysis.
- Experience with Linux, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and passion for system performance and reliability.
- Experience building internal engineering platforms or developer tooling is highly valued.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and ability to critically assess AI-generated code for performance and correctness.
