About the role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of next-generation electronic products used in food service, retail, and healthcare environments. This role is responsible for taking products from early concept through production launch while partnering with electrical engineering, firmware, product management, suppliers, and manufacturing teams. As the mechanical subject matter expert, you'll have significant ownership over product architecture, enclosure design, manufacturability, validation testing, and production support. You'll work independently while collaborating across disciplines to deliver innovative, reliable products that scale into manufacturing. This is a hybrid role based out of our Chanhassen, MN location. The expected in-office schedule will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration factors such as the candidate's proximity to the office and business needs.
What you'll bring
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal
- Die-cut components
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
- 5–8+ years of product development experience with a proven record of bringing products from concept through high-volume manufacturing.
- Equivalent mastery in another enterprise CAD platform will also be considered
- Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), such as: • Injection molding
- Steel fabrication
- Experience designing electronic enclosures such as: • PCB packaging
- Thermal management
- Heat sinks and airflow
- Connector integration
