About the role

The Production Technician sets up and operates one or more wire drawing machines. Positions and secures specified dies in the dieholder, using hand tools. Lifts coil of wire onto feed reel and threads it through dies. Coats wire with lubricant to facilitate the drawing machine and starts machine. Inspects and measures drawn wire to verify conformance to specified shape, size and resistance, using instruments such as wire gauges and micrometers, and replaces worn dies by using hand tools. Performs tensile strength and other tests and records test data on proper form.

What you'll bring

• The Production Technician must exhibit the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):
• High School Diploma, GED, or ability to demonstrate basic literacy and math proficiency through education, experience, or assessment
• Fluent in English
• Basic computer skills
• Possess math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Must have the ability to learn to use and read micrometers, tape measures, feeler gauges, and basic hand tools.
• Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 40-100+ degrees Fahrenheit.
• One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to be certified as a forklift Operator.
• Must be able to be certified as a Certified Welder.
