About the role
The Pump Mechanic, under the direction of senior mechanics, is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of centrifugal, gear, vacuum, metering, diaphragm, progressive cavity, and other types of pumps. This position also services compressors, gearboxes, cooling towers, and steam traps. Duties include shaft alignment, vibration analysis, and the implementation and maintenance of API seal support systems.
What you'll bring
- Knowledge of and experience using precision measurement and alignment instruments including, but not limited to, micrometers, vernier calipers, machinist levels, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.
- Experience with vibration monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration data collection, analysis, and interpretation for rotating equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze pump performance curves, system head curves, and operating parameters.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical seals and common seal failure causes.
- Experience with CMMS software
- Minimum 2-years experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of rotating equipment.
