About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the overall upkeep of the campuses in helping or utilizing basic “handyman” skills including dry wall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and grounds maintenance under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Position normally works M - F with on-call duties.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma required.
- GED or National Career Readiness Certificate may be substituted for diploma.
- Some experience in general maintenance or as a maintenance helper in duties such as dry wall repair, painting, grounds maintenance, room setup, etc.
- Must have a current driver’s license and driver’s insurance.
- Must have some tools.
- Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Children’s Home clients and staff, including a commitment to use of the Sanctuary Model and to the philosophy of All Children, All Families framework of cultural competencies.
- Must be a self-starter with ability to work to high standards without close supervision performing basic maintenance functions.
- Experience working with contractors and helping ensure they are meeting the standards required by their contract helpful.
