About the role
Haverford Township is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our Vehicle Maintenance team. This position is responsible for the year-round maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of the Township's diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing the Township's fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. This includes fire apparatus, sanitation trucks, dump trucks, police vehicles, recreation vehicles, and various pieces of heavy equipment. The position requires strong technical skills, diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to preventative maintenance and safety. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to ensure Township vehicles and equipment remain safe, dependable, and operational. What you'll bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Formal educational training in vehicle maintenance.
- Minimum five (5) years of mechanic experience.
- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Pennsylvania State Inspection License, Class 7.
- Candidates must provide and maintain their own tools.
