About the role

The Operations Specialist / Supervisor serves as a frontline operations leader responsible for supervising daily transportation, yard, shuttle, and onsite logistics activities supporting Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA). This position is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to production operations by coordinating drivers, trailers, equipment, and transportation resources in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The Operations Specialist / Supervisor oversees driver activities, monitors transportation performance, verifies customer orders and delivery requirements, ensures proper load securement and handling of automotive parts, and maintains compliance with all company, customer, safety, DOT, and OSHA requirements. The position serves as the primary operational contact during assigned shifts and may assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Transportation Operations Manager.

What you'll bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, manufacturing logistics, or yard operations experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations.
• Experience supervising hourly employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and shift coverage when required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of transportation, automotive manufacturing logistics, or yard operations experience.
• Experience supporting automotive manufacturing environments.
• CDL-A license with practical yard or shuttle driving experience.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and operational reporting tools.
