About the role

The application deadline for this position is 11:59pm EST on September 1, 2026. The eLearning Director provides leadership, vision, and administrative oversight for Santa Fe College’s (SF) eLearning environment in support of academic programs, teaching excellence, and student success and is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating eLearning programs and services. This position leads the development of high-quality online education by integrating instructional design, academic and emerging technologies, digital media, and accessibility to ensure innovative, accessible, and compliant learning experiences. Additionally, this position serves as a resource within Academic Affairs on matters related to digital accessibility and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning. The Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support institutional initiatives, advance best practices, and promote a cohesive, innovative, student-centered online learning environment.

What you'll bring

  • A master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, education, or a related field with three (3) years of experience in eLearning, instructional design, academic technology, or related areas which must include online and hybrid course design, development, and delivery as well as LMS administration and support.
  • A combination of education and experience equal to nine (9) years will be considered.
  • Prior supervisory experience is required.
  • leading institution-wide eLearning or academic technology initiatives
  • and/or integrating emerging technologies into teaching and learning.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards related to distance education (i.e., SACSCOC, HLC).
  • Certification or training in instructional design or quality frameworks (i.e., Quality Matters).
  • Preferred: A PhD or equivalent in a related field with experience in postsecondary teaching
