About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing insurance agency. This role is responsible for supervising AP/AR activities, reviewing agency billing accounting operations, overseeing commission revenue reporting and reconciliations, and managing a small accounting support team, including external and overseas resources.

What you'll bring

• This is a part-time position
• 5+ years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibility
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, and revenue reporting
• Experience coordinating with carriers to resolve accounting and commission discrepancies
• Ability to supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff and consultants
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Administrative and process improvement experience
• Familiarity with AI and automation tools to modernize accounting and back-office processes and improve operational efficiency
• This is not a high-level executive position focused primarily on strategy and presentations.
• Minimum (4) four years of experience in accounting, including receivable and payable experience
• Excellent knowledge of both operational and financial accounting.
• 10-15 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday-Friday in our Great Neck NY office.
