About the role
The Director of Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science is responsible for supervising programs, managing staff and resources, and coordinating the activity of the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science grants. The Director provides strategic direction, operational oversight, leadership and evaluation for UW-Green Bay’s two Upward Bound programs that support preparing high school students to be successful in their higher education endeavors. This position The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.
What you'll bring
- Master’s degree in Education, Counseling or a related field at time of application
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in K-12 schools or other educational organizations
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving diverse student populations.
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of TRiO/Precollege Programs
- Experience writing or working on grant-related projects that serve underrepresented students in higher education
- Demonstrated experience designing, managing or implementing a collaborative multiorganizational project
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with the ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software/applications.
- Proficiency in speaking and reading a second language
- preferably Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida
