• Position Type: Substitute/ Substitute Teacher • Locations Available: • Jacksonville North Pulaski School District (Horizons) SUMMARY: A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher/campus supervisor • Following campus procedures and protocols • Overseeing students outside of the classroom, including hallways and the cafeteria • Takes precautions to ensure staff/student safety • Does not leave students unsupervised • Taking attendance and documenting daily notes QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Dependable • Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal direction • Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities • Ability to handle stressful situations • Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents and staff • Genuine care for students • Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude and demeanor PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting (up to 30lbs) • Regular contact with other staff members and building administrators • Vocal communication to students • Visual acuity is required for preparing /assisting with work and observing students as well as general surroundings Daily rate of pay:$100, Non-Certified $130, Certified (will need to provide active teaching license) For questions regarding this position, please email: rafeal.marlow@archfordhub.org
