About the role

The Superintendent oversees field operations across multiple crews performing heavy civil construction, primarily underground wet utilities including water, sewer, and storm drain systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced,  boots -on-the-ground environment and serves as the critical link between project plans and field execution, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality. Flexible scheduling is  required , including overtime, nights, weekends, and varying hours based on project needs and weather conditions.

What you'll bring

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in heavy civil construction (utilities required)
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide and motivate crews
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control, construction standards, and OSHA compliance
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Tech-savvy and experienced with Procore, Heavy Job, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel to local job sites (DC, MD, VA)
• Are passionate about building efficient, safe, and high-quality infrastructure
• Enjoy mentoring teams and leading by example
• Can work independently in dynamic environments while meeting deadlines
• Take pride in seeing projects through from the ground up
• Are proactive, reliable, and solution-oriented
