About the role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Finance & Payroll Accountant to join our growing remote finance team supporting Australian-based businesses. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in end-to-end Australian payroll processing, structured finance operations, reconciliations, and process improvement, within a collaborative and technology-driven remote environment. You will work closely with finance leadership and play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll execution, compliance with Australian statutory requirements, month-end integrity, and continuous improvement across finance systems and workflows, particularly within multi-entity environments using NetSuite. If you enjoy working with numbers, owning end-to-end payroll cycles, solving operational finance problems, and improving systems in a fast-paced but structured remote setup, this role will be a strong fit.
What you'll bring
- Superannuation processing and submissions
- STP (Single Touch Payroll) reporting
- PAYG withholding obligations and reporting
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accuracy across payroll registers, summaries, and statutory filings
- CPA or CA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in accounting, payroll, or finance operations
- Strong experience running end-to-end Australian payroll cycles (essential)
- Employment Hero (or similar AU payroll systems)
- STP reporting, Superannuation, and PAYG compliance
- Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
