About the role

Old Dominion Group Inc. (ODG), a respected specialty contractor founded in 1981, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations by ensuring accuracy, organization, and efficiency across multiple accounting functions. The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 4–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, consulting, or another analytical role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and accounting fundamentals.
• High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, along with experience using ERP systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Curious, confident, and hardworking, with a willingness to quickly learn and apply new skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic, reliable transportation, and flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, professional demeanor, and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
