About the role
In this role you will be Scala engineer in a cross-functional development team. Likely technical challenges you will be facing in your first year at Moneyfarm will be related to adapting the architecture of our systems with strong customer growth in mind. A successful candidate in this role will be pragmatic, collaborative, value simplicity and effectiveness, and be biased for action. They will consider being wrong an opportunity for learning and will not consider any part of the software development lifecycle to be someone else’s problem. Your job will be to help us build a great product that our customers love, and a great environment to work in. What you'll bring
- You have at least 2 years of commercial experience in software engineering, a BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science or higher degree non essential
- Experience working with microservices architectures
- A good understanding of agile methodologies (particularly Kanban/Lean), their principles and their ceremonies.
- Used to working with Git and performing code reviews.
- Familiar with CI/CD concepts and tools like Gitlab CI.
- Focussed on testing and extraordinary attention to details.
- Typescript experience is a nice to have.
- Kafka, Kubernetes and AWS knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in fintech or wealth management is nice to have.
- Able to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken), Italian is a nice to have.

- Scala commercial experience is highly preferred, but not essential provided you have strong transferable skills, e.g. Java 8+, Kotlin, etc.
