About the role
This is the technical lead focusing on Qumulo's healthcare, life sciences, and pharmaceutical accounts. You'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof-of-concept, designing storage architectures for clinical care, research, and regulated environments. The work is hands-on with the people doing the work: healthcare IT directors, research informatics teams, compliance officers, and clinical application owners running PACS and VNA systems, EHR platforms, genomic pipelines, and clinical trial data. You'll translate their requirements into solutions that perform at scale and hold up under HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and GxP.
What you'll bring
- 8+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Healthcare Solutions Engineer) at a software, storage, or tech company, including 4+ years focused on healthcare, life sciences, or pharma
- Strong grounding in unstructured data storage for regulated environments: imaging performance, lifecycle management, secure access, and archival, including NFS, SMB, and object
- Working knowledge of healthcare data workflows: medical imaging (DICOM, PACS, VNA), EMR, genomics and bioinformatics pipelines, clinical research data, or pharma manufacturing - as well as HIPAA, HITECH, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and data retention requirements
- Track record leading complex pre-sales engagements end to end in regulated environments
- Comfort engaging clinical, research, IT, compliance, and executive audiences in the same room
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, medical imaging informatics, genomics file formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF), or research data management platforms
- Background supporting health systems, IDNs, pharma R&D, biotech research, or CROs
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid architectures for regulated data, and AI/ML in medical imaging or drug discovery
- Working knowledge of CTMS, EDC, LIMS, or drug discovery computational platforms
