About the role
The SQL Server Database Developer / Data Engineer I supports the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases and data integration solutions supporting enterprise applications and Department of Defense (DoD) mission systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role develops database objects, assists with ETL/ELT processes, performs data validation, and contributes to database performance improvements while building expertise in enterprise data management. What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of SQL Server database development experience.
- Experience with T-SQL development.
- Knowledge of relational database design principles.
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT concepts.
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. Government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and database deployment processes.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) systems and secure environments.
