About the role

IMEG is hiring a Structural Project Engineer in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger and high complexity projects. You will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients, with a focus on the analysis, design, and   implementation   oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures. This role also includes project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, mentoring less experienced staff, and partnering across disciplines to meet project goals and client expectations. The team is concentrated in Southern California education and healthcare work, especially school modernization and hospital upgrade efforts, contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent,   required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License   required
  • Proficiency   in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including   proficiency   of principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and other structures
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Proficiency   of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural engineering design and analysis software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficiency   in the use of BIM software
