About the role

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Implement a curriculum based on the developmental stages of the preschool aged child • Work closely with the Preschool Coordinator • Manage classroom behavior and program practices according to As We Grow Preschool guidelines • Direct the work of the preschool Teacher Assistant • Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications: • High school graduate with a valid diploma and 21 years of age, with 60 hours of college credits, 6 credits of which are in Early Childhood Education • One year experience working with preschool age children, with a special knowledge of children’s physical, emotional and social developmental patterns • Acquire CPR/AED and First Aid certification and keep current • Complete a minimum of 15 hours continuing education credits per preschool year • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances • Statement acknowledging mandated reporter of child abuse status • Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the Park District • Knowledge of DCFS guidelines ages 2-5 • Level 1 ECE and/or Level 1 director qualified or ability to obtain certificate Benefits: • Employee Wellness Programs and Incentives • Employee Recognition Programs • Discounts at Our Golf Course • Season Passes to Our Aquatic Center • Free or Discounted Prices for Our Fitness & Special Event Programs Rate:  $19-$21/hour
