About the role

Monitor, control and prevent situations hazardous to the health and safety of beach patrons through alert, responsive observations of the beach and the ocean. Execute rescue procedures promptly and efficiently when necessary. Provide resuscitative care when needed. Work is performed under general supervision. Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.

What you'll bring

• High school graduate or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must complete the beach performance test in under 30 minutes (&frac14
• mile run, 600yd swim, 600yd paddle).
• Able to successfully enter water from a height over 25ft (pier jump)
• Requires weekends and holidays.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding or equivalent.
• American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR Certificate
• Valid State of Florida Driver's License
• Running
• Swimming
• Paddling
