About the role
As the Child Protective Services Nurse Consultant, you will work under the direction of the Medical Director of OCFS and the Child Wellbeing Supervisor. You will be responsible for the following as it relates to the well-being of children in foster care and their caregiver(s): The Office of Child & Family Services (OCFS), within DHHS is responsible for ensuring the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families through community networks, local resources, and life-long family connections throughout Maine. This position will be part of the Child Welfare Division.
What you'll bring
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field demonstrating competency in case management, medication management, child welfare, and/or behavioral health management.
- This position requires a valid license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
- Knowledge of child welfare, child abuse and neglect, children’s behavioral health and trauma informed systems of care.
- Knowledge of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for developmental, behavioral and mental health conditions of children and adolescents.
