About the role

We're looking for a Goods-In Quality Inspector who is interested in developing a career in Quality and wants the opportunity to learn and grow within a hands-on engineering environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail and wants to develop new skills while playing an important role in ensuring the materials and components we use meet the high standards expected at OpenWorks. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, energy and motivation to learn, alongside a reliable and methodical approach to their work. You might come from a manufacturing, engineering, production, warehouse or other hands-on environment, or simply have an interest in Quality and a desire to learn more.

What you'll bring

  • Hands-on experience: Experience in a practical environment such as manufacturing, engineering, production, warehouse or a similar setting.
  • Attention to detail: A naturally thorough and methodical approach, with pride in getting things right.
  • Quality mindset: Able to spot defects or potential issues and understand when something needs to be escalated.
  • Motivated to learn: A genuine interest in developing a career in Quality, with the energy and attitude to learn new skills.
  • Organised and reliable: Able to maintain accurate records, follow processes and manage tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Team player: Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across the business.
  • Measuring experience: Experience using vernier callipers, plug gauges or similar measuring equipment would be beneficial.
  • Engineering environment: Experience working with engineering drawings, product specifications, ERP systems or within an engineering/manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
