About the role
This position is on an on-call basis and will only be needed during periods of inclement winter weather Now hiring for the 2026 winter season. LOT LOCATION: Thornburg, Virginia.
What you'll bring
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Have a valid Driver’s License.
- Pass a DOT drug screen, and MVR review.
- Have a clean driving record — no serious violations or multiple accidents within the past 5 years.
- Be willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of the event (hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS).
- Must attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts.
- Work is needed, depending on winter weather events determined by VDOT.
- Prior snowplow experience is helpful but not required.
