About the role

Timmons Group is currently seeking a  Survey Technician/Senior Survey Technician   to join our  Survey Group  located in our  Staunton, VA  office location. The Survey Technician assists in application of principles, methods, and techniques of land surveying by performing the following duties: We are looking for high energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starters who are willing to work at a dynamic pace.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences or related field or a minimum of three years of progressive survey field experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, scope of services, project budgets, jurisdictional platting & submittal requirements, and procedure manuals
• Ability to read deed descriptions, title reports, zoning reports, survey plats, DOT plans, engineering drawings, and aerial topographic mapping
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as trigonometry and geometry

• Experience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning a plus
