About the role

As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in protecting the reliability of one of our core backend platforms, a central service that produces data consumed by a range of other products across the business. You'll combine manual testing of the platform's admin portal with automated API test coverage, working closely with backend engineers to catch issues, especially ones that could break downstream products, before they reach production.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of QA/QE experience combining manual testing and test automation
• Solid experience testing REST APIs: Postman/Newman, OpenAPI/Swagger, and writing your own test assertions
• Working knowledge of ticket-based QA workflows (e.g. Jira)
• Understanding of the risks specific to producer/consumer service architectures, including versioning and backward compatibility
• Strong written communication for bug reports and test documentation that engineers across different stacks can act on
• Even better if you have;
• Familiarity with .NET/C# codebases, Typescript
• Exposure to contract testing tools (e.g. Pact) or CI-integrated API diffing (e.g. oasdiff)
• Experience adding automated checks as CI/CD quality gates
