About the role
Solid Power is seeking an experienced product engineer with background in materials chemistry and battery systems to join our team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, solid-state electrolyte materials . Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced , and collaborative environment . The product engineer will be part of the Electrolyte Systems Engineering department and work on various projects relating to the synthesis, characterization, and performance improvement of solid state electrolyte powders to better meet our customers’ needs. What you'll bring
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in materials characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, TGA, DSC, FT-IR, Raman, SEM) and exposure to electrochemical testing methods (e.g., battery cycling, CV, EIS, GITT)
- Experience working with air- and water-sensitive materials.
- Excellent work ethic and ability to rapidly demonstrate independence.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving research environment
- Structured problem-solving and analytical skills
- 3+ years of experience in the chemical manufacturing or battery industry is desirable
- Background in inorganic, solid state, or synthetic chemical discipline is desirable
