What you'll bring

• The Safety Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day and long-term safety and health activities for all mill operations and helping support mill alignment with corporate initiatives and priorities.
• The position interfaces directly with department leaders and Safety Facilitators to ensure everyone understands the mill and regulatory compliance mandates.
• This is an individual contributor role
• qualified candidates must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others outside of their line of supervision.
• To be considered, the candidate must have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple and complex assignments.
• He / she must understand team dynamics
• and have the ability to lead a diverse workforce.
• The candidate must be able to lead meetings, conduct training, have strong listening skills
• as well as, have the ability to effectively manage change and handle conflict in the workplace.
• Successful candidates will have a strong propensity to lead an effective hazard recognition program and use data to identify improvements.
• Excellent written communication, documentation, and organization skills are necessary for success.
• The position requires use of both specialized computer applications for safety management as well as proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
