About the role
Job Title: Inventory & Materials Handler Department: Operations / Materials Management Reports To: Receiving Supervisor The Inventory & Materials Specialist is responsible for overseeing the flow, accuracy, and availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures production has the materials required to meet schedules, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports continuous improvement in material handling, storage, and logistics processes.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of inventory, materials handling, or warehouse experience.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field.
- Experience with lean, 5S, or continuous improvement processes.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices (FIFO, cycle counting, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication with cross functional teams.
- Problem solving and root cause analysis for inventory issues.
- Dependability and ability to work independently.
