About the role
Legacy Behavioral Health is seeking a RN Intake Coordinator to join our team. The Intake Nurse Coordinator (RN) is tasked with providing safe and quality treatment to all patients, as well as assisting psychiatric and medical management teams to ensure the safe, effective, and productive treatment of patients. They are responsible for mentoring employees and teaching relevant skills on an as-needed basis. Communication skills are important in this position to work well with employees, patients, and families of patients. They should have general knowledge of medical software applications and business-oriented office software applications, and they must be able to work independently and troubleshoot problems. They should also be able to multi-task and work well under pressure, coordinating with providers for admission and discharging of patients. Perform and/or coordinate nursing assessments in triage to assist in developing patient care plans and assist with discharging patients. Educate patients and families on procedures, treatment options, and symptom management. The RN Intake Coordinator will be supervised by the Nurse Manager. What you'll bring
- ◦ Must have a current Georgia RN license.
- ◦ 2 years minimum experience in psychiatric nursing
- ◦ Must be CPR and First Aid certified or to obtain certification.
- Must be physically able to perform CPR.
- ◦ Must be proficient in verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- ◦ Must be able to identify and report any adverse side effects of medication to the physician.
- ◦ Must have excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
- ◦ Individuals in this position must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations.
- ◦ BSN preferred.
