About the role
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) invites applications for the position of Acquisitions Librarian to join the Hunt Library. This position is responsible for the acquisition and delivery of print books, single-title ebooks, print and electronic journals, media, and other library materials while supporting the library's collection management program. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Collection Strategy & Technical Services, the Acquisitions Librarian supervises one staff member and collaborates with colleagues across departments and campuses to support the timely and effective acquisition of library resources. The successful candidate will join the Hunt Library ( https://huntlibrary.erau.edu ), serving the Daytona Beach, Prescott, and Worldwide campuses. This position is based on the Daytona Beach campus and works regular business hours. What you'll bring
- Collection development
- Master’s degree required.
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Studies from an ALA-accredited program.
- Academic library experience.
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Library acquisitions
- Ordering and invoicing
- Vendor relations
- Related technical services functions
- 1–3 years of work-related experience in Library Collection Management.
- Experience with, or demonstrated ability to learn, library management systems and automated acquisitions workflows.
- Knowledge of current and emerging issues, trends, workflows, business models, and best practices in library acquisitions.
