DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Manager, Procurement R&D Category , located in New Brunswick, NJ, West Chester, PA, Raynam, MA, Warsaw, IN, or Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. The Senior Manager of Procurement Services is responsible for the leadership of Procurement activities across spend categories, driving alignment between business and category strategies. The leader will execute strategic business and industry engagement to establish a reliable, resilient and effective supply base for the company. The Senior Manager of Procurement Services will also be tasked with end-to-end spend management responsibilities, including, but not limited to, Category Management, Supplier Management, Sourcing, Contracting, and Innovation. The Senior Manager of Procurement Services will be accountable to delivering aggressive financial targets, including cost and working capital improvement. Further, the leader will deliver against a balanced value proposition including innovation, environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), and procurement process excellence. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Comprehensive knowledge of R&D industry is required
- A minimum of 8 years of working experience in procurement or a related discipline is required
- Experience in Procurement and/or Category Management.
- Experience developing category strategies or multi ‑ year sourcing roadmaps.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost drivers, market dynamics, and risk trade ‑ offs.
- Experience in sourcing strategy, supplier management, competitive bidding and complex contract negotiation
- Proficiency in Excel, with strong advanced analytics skills to analyze insights, spend, or supplier performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with digital and AI procurement tools
- Strong presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence business partners.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross ‑ functional sourcing initiatives/projects.
- Leadership, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills are required
