About the role
We are seeking an experienced R&D Chemist to develop, optimize, and scale agricultural formulations for commercial use. This role will focus on transforming active ingredients into robust, farmer-ready products that maintain performance under real-world storage, mixing, handling, and application conditions. While this position is being advertised as a Senior R&D Chemist, exceptional candidates whose experience and qualifications exceed the requirements of the role may be considered for a more senior position, with title and compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
What you'll bring
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Formulation Science, Agricultural Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of formulation development experience in agriculture, crop protection, biologicals, fertilizers, specialty chemicals, or adjacent industries.
- Strong background in colloid chemistry, polymers, dispersions, emulsions, suspensions, and liquid formulation systems.
- Experience designing and interpreting stability and compatibility studies.
- Experience supporting scale-up from laboratory through commercial manufacturing.
- Strong experimental design, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of agricultural application systems and commercial farming operations.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and product stewardship within the agricultural industry.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing facilities and external partners.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start up environment.
- Experience leading R&D teams.
- Scientific rigor and data-driven decision making.
