About the role

The Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) is a community-based, non-share capital corporation that operates, manages, maintains and invests in the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and affiliate businesses. Operating on a multi-site property, the WAA is responsible for airport operations, security, facilities, parking, ground transportation and communications. Reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Risk Management, the Education and Training Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of corporate education and training programs that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and employee development. This role serves as WAA's lead administrator for the corporate Learning Management System (LMS) and works closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and departmental training champions to ensure employees receive effective, accessible, and compliant learning opportunities. The successful candidate is passionate about adult learning, enjoys translating complex requirements into engaging learning experiences, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience administering and supporting a Learning Management System (LMS) and developing SCORM-compliant courses
  • Experience developing instructor-led and e-learning content, including multimedia learning resources
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation
  • Experience interpreting legislation, standards, policies, and compliance requirements and translating them into effective learning solutions
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and learning technologies
