About the role
The Safety Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight for occupational safety, health, and security programs to ensure regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in advancing a culture of safety excellence by engaging employees, developing safety personnel, reducing operational risk, and aligning safety initiatives with business objectives.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive safety experience in an industrial environment.
- Experience leading safety programs, compliance initiatives, and risk management systems.
- Previous supervisory or people leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety, health, industrial hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence culture change and collaborate across the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CRSP, CIH, COSS, ROH, CMIOSH, MPH, or equivalent, preferred.
