About the role

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) serves the Denesuline First Nations communities of Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond du Lac in northern Saskatchewan. Supporting approximately 1,300 students, ADEA is committed to strong teaching, innovative programming, and the integration of Denesuline culture and language throughout learning. ADEA invites applications for a full-time permanent   Grade 1 Teacher   at Father Gamache Memorial School (FGMS) in Fond Du Lac, Saskatchewan. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to student achievement, support a strong school community, and advance education grounded in Denesuline culture and community values. FGMS is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school serving more than 300 students with a dedicated professional and paraprofessional staff team. Opportunity:  Reporting to the Principal and/or Vice Principal, the Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting school improvement, collaborating with staff and administration, and maintaining professional growth. Required   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and success. • Design and deliver effective instruction responsive to diverse student needs. • Implement curriculum using inclusive practices and a range of instructional strategies. • Build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community. • Support a positive learning climate that reflects Denesuline culture and language. • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and collaboration in support of school goals. Qualifications: • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent. • Related experience, including work with First Nations students in a remote community, is an asset.
