Responsibilities • Represent clients and manage a docket of cases in general commercial litigation, real estate disputes, and personal injury • Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to commercial clients • Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings • Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records Experience • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Admission to the State Bar of Texas • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate litigation/tort based litigation • Comfortable managing a docket on your own and handling cases from beginning to end • Strong research and writing skills • Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational and time management skills • Willingness to travel when necessary • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records Technology Mayer LLP has implemented the following technology platforms: • Westlaw • Harvey AI • Coyote • PointOne • iManage Benefits • Competitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annually • Full suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm • 10 company holidays + 4 early release days • Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home) • 401k + firm match based on previous year revenue. What you'll bring
