Cboe is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to lead legal support for Cboe’s strategic transactional activity. Cboe operates in a highly regulated environment and, in addition to expertise in strategic transactions, the successful candidate will need the willingness and capability to learn the various regulatory frameworks that apply and navigate them responsibly in the performance of this role. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois. Cboe is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to lead legal support for Cboe’s strategic transactional activity.  Cboe operates in a highly regulated environment and, in addition to expertise in strategic transactions, the successful candidate will need the willingness and capability to learn the various regulatory frameworks that apply and navigate them responsibly in the performance of this role. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois.

What you'll bring

• Significant experience structuring complex strategic transactions and negotiating legal elements of such transactions with sophisticated counterparties.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex corporate transactional legal agreements and documents.
• Sophisticated knowledge of relevant areas of law, including state corporation laws and contract law and working knowledge of other relevant areas of law such as antitrust, employment and IP.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to express complex subject matter in an accurate, clear, and straightforward manner.
• Experience directly and effectively advising senior businesspeople on strategic matters.
• Familiarity with public company governance and disclosure requirements.
• Ability to develop strategic solutions to legal problems and communicate to business effectively.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and to effectively interact with internal and external contacts.
• Ability to work independently and to work cooperatively in group situations
