About the role
The Experienced Miner plays a critical role in the extraction of valuable minerals and resources from underground or surface mining sites across the United States. This position requires a deep understanding of mining operations, safety protocols, and equipment handling to ensure efficient and safe extraction processes. The miner will contribute to maximizing resource recovery while minimizing environmental impact and adhering to regulatory standards. Collaboration with engineering, safety, and environmental teams is essential to optimize mining plans and address operational challenges. Ultimately, the role ensures that mining activities are conducted responsibly, productively, and sustainably to support the company’s production goals. Working on a remote island and living in a mining camp environment away from home if you are not Juneau based. This role will be operate on a 20 days on/10 days off schedule.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground or surface mining operations.
- Valid certification or license to operate mining machinery as required by state or federal regulations.
- Strong knowledge of mining safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Associate degree or technical certification in mining technology or related field.
- Experience with computerized mining equipment and software.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to mining activities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills or experience in a supervisory role.
- Preferred skills such as familiarity with mining software enhance operational planning and data management, improving decision-making and productivity.
